Maybe she doesn't.

But doesn't it sound like Rey to want to hide away from someone for a good reason? She gets down on herself a lot. Thinks there's bad within herself at times. And sometimes she takes it to heart.

Neither of us were on Everest, so we don't know what happened out there. But it seems like something did.
